The 1.5 meter society makes it sometimes risky for people to take the guitar lessons physically in my studio. Of course it is possible to keep 1.5 meters away in my studio, but this can not work all the time. In recent months I have therefore experimented a lot with Zoom, Google hangouts and Skype. Unfortunately, the possibilities of these programs in terms of sound quality and playing together for a music lesson are limited. Fortunately, there is a solution and these are software programs, open source programs, that you can download from the internet for free. If you are interested in taking guitar lessons remotely, I would like to explain how this can and will work.
Guitar lessons online via an open source / free program
To be able to follow guitar lessons online without video lessons, but just a live connection with the teacher, there are a number of preconditions that I have listed below for you:
Your PC or tablet should be able to receive internet via a Lan cable. There are many different adapters that you can order online or buy in a store for a few euros.
- Software Client free download for windows and mac.
- Microphone and XLR cable.
- Audio interface.
Audio interface is an external box located between the instrument and the computer. The microphone that is connected by an XLR cable on the box converts the acoustic sound into digital information.
Depending on what you already have, I suspect a lan cable and headphones, the costs are probably around the € 60,00
Furthermore, I can offer you technical support via the Team Viewer app., with your permission, i will take over your mouse and help you with the settings on your PC or Mac.
